armband for CD TENERIFE VS SD HUESCA

Our next LaLiga SmartBank League game is away on 22 April (kick-off 21:00 CEST) against CD Tenerife at Heliodoro Rodríguez López, one of the dark horses of the season.

Centenary armband

CD Tenerife commemorate their one hundredth anniversary this year – 100 years of leagues, promotions and major milestones. The name Club Deportivo Tenerife replaced Tenerife Sporting Club in 1922. Its centenary is therefore depicted in the armband, as you can see on the white and blue border decorating the design.

Food, stars and urban art

In order to create the armband, we have found inspiration in the flora of the island, since Tenerife has an outstanding ecological diversity. Among its lush vegetation, we can point out the yellowish flower on the local pinwheel (Aeonium haworthii) that we can see in our armband, as well.

Another symbol displayed in our pattern is the St. Andrew’s Cross, represented both in the coat of arms of the football club and the flag of the province of Tenerife.

Food, stars and urban art

The graphic composition of our armband finally embraces a reference to the local cuisine: the iconic horse-mackerel.

Right under the coat of arms of SD Huesca, we can see the Teide Observatory. This Astrophysics venue, located on Mount Teide at 2,390 metres, is considered the largest solar observatory in the world. Just because of this, we can find a wide range of stars all over our armband.

In order to complete our pattern, we’ve included a nod to the urban artist Borja Jiménez, aka Bejo, by representing his characteristic glasses. This versatile singer is the author not only of the poster of the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife this year but also of the song La Florinata, where he devotes some fine-sounding phrases to his beloved Tete.
