Armband for Deportivo Alavés VS SD Huesca

As it is a tradition at our club, our captain will don a special armband exclusively tailored for our fixture against Deportivo Alavés at Mendizorroza.

Guided by Huesca La Magia, this design depicts the Cola de Caballo cascade in the Pyrenean Ordesa and Monte Perdido national park (Huesca) and the Salto del Nervión waterfall (Álava).

The graphic composition of this armband represents the routes of both waterfalls. Cola de Caballo (horsetail) cascade reminds us of a hand fan, whereas Salto del Nervión is much straighter, as it’s a 222-metre-high waterfall – the highest in the Iberian Peninsula.

Several popular hiking routes start from the two abovementioned waterfalls, walking across the nature of those areas. That’s the reason why some green arrows have been illustrated in our composition, just like the signs in those routes.

Salto del Nervión (Álava)

Salto del Nervión is the source of the Nervión River – the origin of the Estuary of Bilbao. The highest waterfall in the Iberian Peninsula is located among Álava, Burgos and Biscay.

Cola de Caballo (Huesca)

This waterfall, known as Cola de Caballo, is the most spectacular of the numerous along the Arazas River.

The Guardian asked their readers about the most breathtaking waterfalls around the world. And the winner was… Indeed, Cola de Caballo, in the Pyrenean Ordesa and Monte Perdido national park, in Huesca.
