Armband for Granada CF VS SD Huesca

In SD Huesca’s upcoming clash against Granada CF, our captain will wear an armband depicting two famous locations that connect both provinces.

Thanks to Huesca La Magia, this mountain armband represents two of the most important peaks in Spain. On the one hand, Mulhacén, part of the Sierra Nevada range in the Cordillera Penibética (Granada), the highest peak in the Iberian Peninsula (Spain’s second-highest after Teide). On the other hand, Aneto (located in the Posets-Maladeta Natural Park), which is the highest mountain in the Pyrenees.

As you can see in the infographic below, a series of geometric shapes referring to the altitudes and routes to climb these peaks has been designed.

Mulhacén (Granada)

It is the highest peak in the Iberian Peninsula (Spain’s second-highest after Teide). Reaching a height of 3,479 metres (11,414 ft), Mulhacén is part of the Sierra Nevada range in the Cordillera Penibética (Granada). It can be climbed both from its south and its north flank. Depending on the season, it can be climbed on foot, on skis or by mountain bike. It is a more and more popular mountain to enjoy nature at its best.

Aneto (Huesca)

Located in the Posets-Maladeta Natural Park, in the municipality of Benasque (Huesca province), it is the highest mountain in the Pyrenees. With an elevation of 3,404 metres (11,168 feet), it is made of Paleozoic terrain of a granitic nature and Mesozoic materials. This site is a lovely open green space with great biodiversity in animal life thanks to its variety of ecosystems. The mountain’s ascent can be made from different points every season of the year, and all of them offer a unique view of the valley.

Here you can see some of the activities you can do, as well as the climb to Aneto summit.
